Rebecca Foley
Rebecca Foley
Rebecca Foley Taylor is a visual artist whose work explores the intersection of nature, memory, and emotion through painting and photography. Drawing inspiration from the natural world and coastal landscapes, she creates evocative scenes that invite reflection, nostalgia, and quiet contemplation.
Originally from Liverpool and Canada, Rebecca’s artistic journey began under the influence of her father, Herb Foley—a retired art lecturer and established New Zealand painter. Her early interest in photography later evolved into a passion for painting, which she deepened through formal art lessons. Over time, she has developed a distinctive impressionist style, characterized by a sensitive approach to light and atmosphere.
Rebecca’s work has been exhibited in Arts Canterbury exhibitions and is held in private collections. When not in the studio, she finds inspiration walking coastal trails, observing the play of light on water, and capturing fleeting natural moments.
She currently lives and works by the sea in Christchurch, New Zealand, where she continues to explore the emotional resonance of place through her art.
